Tu Bishvat

Tu Bishvat Through the Ages

Tu bishvat, the New Year of the trees, is commemorated with a special Seder created by the Kabbalists (Jewish mystics). In this workshop we explore the historical evolution of this holiday and how different ages brought new life to this celebration.

  • Ancient origins of Tu Bishvat
  • Kabbalists’ beliefs and their creation of the Tu Bishvat Seder
  • The evolution of Tu Bishvat through the centuries
  • Ancient and modern Jewish writings concerning trees, nature, and protecting the environment
  • How to create a Tu Bishvat Seder filled with meaning and spirituality 
  • Family activities to enhance one's celebration of this holiday

Jewish Tu B'Shevat Seder and educational materials about the holiday.

Workshop Materials

Participants will receive a Tu Bishvat Seder to be used at home. The Seder booklet also contains stories, quotes and activities for Tu Bishvat. Participants will also receive additional materials to enhance their knowledge and their Tu Bishvat celebration.
